The 3rd weigh in at the Biggest Loser house loomed over the contestants. Would Miriam have lost enough weight for her and Eunice? Had the confrontation with Angie had an effect on Jennifer?

Last Chance Training

Carol wasn’t able to do her last chance training on Friday because of her dizzy spell on Thursday so, Katey was on her own. She said,

‘I’m here to get some independence because obviously my mum supports me a lot and she does mother me a lot. Richard mentioned that we should be separated a bit more. So I suppose, on the flip side, not having my mum there at last chance training today showed me how strong I can be without my mum,’

They worked really hard and the competitive streak between Mark and Kevin really came to a head. Richard played on that to egg them both on and push them even harder. Mark said,

‘When I was doing last chance training I was on the running machine and Richard said, is that the best you can do? So I went from 6 to 7 and then up to 8. On seeing this he teased Kevin and said, Mark’s on 8 what are you going to do? So he took it to 8,’

Richard then turned to Mark and said, Kevin just went up to 8 what are you going to do? So Mark increased his again to 8.1. Richard laughed,

‘Ha, ha, ha! Eight point one! I love it!’

Mark went on to say,

‘At which point, Kevin decided to go to 10 and how he stayed on that I’ll never know because it was really running away with him!’

Richard said,

‘Kevin excelled in the last chance workout. He managed to get the treadmill up to 10, which is a very, very fast sprint. He hung on for dear life but he made it. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Mark not looking too amused!’

Kevin said later,

‘Mark is a very competitive person. I’m different. I’m not that competitive but I kind of switch my competitive streak on now and again to wind him up. I always like to remind Mark that I’ve done something a little better than him,’

Richard said that in the workout today he’d got his team to do a lot of boxing because it’s high intensity and it’s also something they love doing. Katey did really well with the training, particularly in the boxing session. Kevin said,

‘I wouldn’t like to have a fight with her. She’s got some real power!’

The session was so intense that it ended with them all lying on the floor, completely exhausted. Richard said that he was confident that all of his team would be intact when he came back next week.

Angie’s Team

Angie said to her team,

‘This is really important. Every single bit of training you do now is going to make a difference on that scale,’ then she said to Jamie,

‘Good workout today Jamie. That scale is going to do you some favours tomorrow. I tell you right now,’

She was pushing the team when Miriam just broke down. Angie said,

‘Miriam didn’t look too good. Something was going on for her and I confronted her in that. She just broke down. She started crying. She’s obviously feeling vulnerable I think, Eunice isn’t here,’

Miriam told Angie, between sobs, that she was really worried about the weigh in and going home the next day because she really wanted to stay in and hold the place for her sister. Angie told her,

‘It’s okay for you to feel like, upset and vulnerable. That’s part of this journey. It really is you know. It’s a rollercoaster in here but, you’ve come through every single barrier, every single challenge so far right?’

Dave did well with most of the tasks that Angie set in the training but, he just couldn’t seem to get his balance on one of the tasks. He said,

‘I was okay on most of the tasks but, the one on the half balloon, I just could not get my balance,’ Bless him!

Sadie said,

‘Last Chance Training was tough. It was basically like a rugby style, athletics style circuit and you basically keep going until Angie says stop!’

Angie shouted to her team,

‘Come on! If anyone gives up then we’re going to do it again and again and again and again and again until we get it right!’ She went on to say to Sadie,

‘Sadie, are you going under the yellow line this week?’

Through her obvious pain, Sadie said,

‘No!’

Angie asked her,

‘You sure?’

Sadie answered,

‘Yeah,’

Angie said,

‘Have you done enough?’

Sadie replied,

‘No,’

So Angie shouted,

‘Carry on then! Do it!’

Miriam said, after the session, that Angie had a wonderful knack of building you up and, as long as you’ve tried your hardest, she would tell you you’d done a good job. She may be hard, but gives praise when it’s due.

Later, Angie said she had lost three members of her team and she didn’t want to lose any more.

Dave said he was fine going up to the scales because he was confident that he’d done the same amount of work he had the week before. But, Jamie was really nervous. He said he started to wonder if he should have had that chocolate milkshake in the temptation challenge.

Sadie was angry that she had only lost 1lb and was below the yellow line because she felt she had pushed really hard and worked well.

Kevin and Mark were faced with their first weigh in with no immunity. But still did incredibly well. Kevin said,

‘I don’t like it at all actually. I’ve got butterflies in my stomach and I’m wondering how much they weigh!’ Once he had stepped on the scales and got the result he said,

‘I haven’t seen that weight since I was 20! My weight has gone up with my age. At 15 I was 15 stone right the way up til I was 21 stone and then I didn’t want to look at the scales anymore!’

Miriam, obviously happy with her result, said,

‘When I found out I was above the Yellow Line I was just made up because I know that meant Eunice and I were still in the competition,’

Final Pleas

The Greens and the Yellows were under the Yellow Line and so are up for elimination. Before the other couples can make their choice, both teams had to make a final plea to them to give the other contestants their reasons for wanting to stay. It was very emotional on Friday. Not a dry eye in the room. Even Mark said he had to find a spot and stare at it to stop him from welling up!

It was the first time the contestants had seen Sadie cry and Katey was so emotional that she had to leave most of the talking to her mum. Michaela said,

‘It’s life or death with some people, so it is so important and it’s just so, so difficult to choose!’

Apparently, with this week’s elimination there will be a twist and the contestants are shocked – Ooooh sounds interesting! Who will be saying their goodbyes? What does the week have in store for the remaining people?
