The Black team were Angie free for their Last Chance Training in the last Biggest Loser episode and they had the weigh in looming over their heads!
With or Without You!
Because the Blacks had lost the Temptation Challenge, they had to forfeit Angie for Last Chance Training. Sadie was not looking forward to telling Angie that she couldn’t train them because she knows that Angie likes to really push them during this session to burn those extra calories ready for weigh in. But, Carol said that she wasn’t upset that Angie wouldn’t be training them this time because it would have been her first Last Chance Training with Angie and she was dreading it. She knew that Angie would want it to be absolutely ‘full throttle’.
Angie was waiting in the gym for them, ready to give them a hard workout session. They walked in and Dave asked her if she wanted the good news or the bad news. She said she didn’t want bad news ever! He told her it was bad news and went on to tell her she wasn’t allowed to train them for Last Chance Training. There was a look of complete shock and dismay on her face. She asked,
‘What do you mean Dave?’
He went on to explain about the Battlechips challenge and how they had lost. She was NOT a happy bunny! Then they had to tell her what they had to eat because of the Battlechips. She was in absolute despair! All those carbs just before weigh-in day.
She made Dave the team leader for the session without her. She told them the session had to be exactly the same intensity as it would be if she was there. She said,
‘Last Chance Training is just empty the tank. Give it all you got!’
Angie said later,
‘I was concerned. What were they going to do? Were they going to make it work and make it effective?’
But when they had told her what they had planned for the session she was over the moon. She said,
‘You’re getting smart you guys. I’m liking this! Make me proud alright?’
I’ve Taught You Well!
She said that they had pretty much come up with what she would have done and that their plan for the session was brilliant. And so, with the A-Team theme in the background, the Black team took to the field at the front of the house and got stuck in.
Angie was happy with what the team had decided to do for their workout but she was still worried that they wouldn’t push themselves as they should. She wasn’t able to resist spying on them from a balcony on the Biggest Loser house. She said,
‘I’m not going to be able to resist spying on them. I’m going to have to find somewhere, I’m gonna have to! I want to see a, how Dave steps up – does he really do the job I’ve asked him to? Is Sadie going to lag behind? Are they going to push to the limits like I’ve asked them? I need to see that. That’s going to be interesting for me and they won’t know I’m watching them so I’ll get the real deal!’
Both Kevin and Angie were impressed with team leader Dave. Kevin said,
‘Dave was really, really cool. He could be a new trainer! And he didn’t let us get away with anything!’
Shining Star
When they were jogging, Dave got Sadie to set the pace and told her she had to drive the team forward. The rest of the team said how well Sadie did. She really stepped up to the plate. Carol said she wished Angie had seen her because she would have been proud of her. But, Angie could see her! She said later that Sadie was brilliant and she was really chuffed with her. She said,
‘I’m glad I was sneaky and watched them because not one member of my team slacked off or let me down. They were fantastic!’
Walking Wounded
The Blues walked, limped and hobbled into the gym ready for their Last Chance Training much to Richard’s dismay. Jamie was on crutches and Katey couldn’t move her head because of her neck. Richard said later,
‘Jamie walked into the gym on crutches and I thought, there he goes, he’s pretty much out of the game!’
Richard asked him about the crutches and whether he was going to be okay. Jamie told him the x-ray had shown it wasn’t broken but that he had a severe sprain. Then Richard told the group that they didn’t look happy and asked them what was going on.
Mark told him about the Battlechips Challenge and that the losing team had to lose their trainer for the Last Chance Training. He made Richard believe that they had lost until he said how great it was to win again! Richard breathed a huge sigh of relief, realising it was Angie’s team that would be without a trainer.
So, the Blue team got down to it. Richard said he would pull them out one by one to do some personal training with them so he could work around their various injuries. Because Jamie couldn’t really do any of the cardio vascular machines, Richard had him working with the dumbbells. He said later that when Jamie thinks he’s not being watched, he takes the easy route. He told Jamie that if he caught him doing it again, he would throw his shoe at him. Jamie didn’t think he was serious, that was until the shoe came flying through the air at him! Richard said that Jamie shouldn’t think he wouldn’t see his threats through!
Katey is doing really well without her mum, even though she hadn’t thought she would. She has gained loads of independence and confidence. Richard said she wasn’t the same girl who came through the gates all those weeks ago. She’s proved to herself that she doesn’t need to rely on her mum as much as she used to.
Richard told Mark that if he wanted to stay in the competition, he needed to tone down the competitive streak and be more of a team player. He told Mark during the Last Chance Training,
‘So, here’s my bit of advice to you. Tone down that competitive streak and start being a team player, otherwise they’ll have you out. Is that clear?’
New Team Spirit
New rules apply to the weigh in now there are two teams. Whichever team loses the least in combined body weight percentage has to vote off one of its own members. With that in mind, Mark made an attempt to make friends with the rest of his teammates. But will it be a case of too little too late?
He admitted that, up to this point he has been focussed on his own goals rather than the team. But he said that he was going to try much harder to work with his team.
Michaela is really happy that her group are getting closer together but, she thinks it will make it really hard to say goodbye. She said that the Blues had to take it as far as they could to get to the final.
Weigh In
This was the first weigh in with the contestants in their new teams. Sadie was a little worried about it because her team had incurred the 4lb penalty from the Weekly Challenge, then they consumed a lot of calories during the Temptation Challenge and they lost Angie for Last Chance Training. But, as Katey said, the Blue team had a lot of injuries and weren’t able to train like they should. So, it was still anybody’s game.

| Mark | 22 stone 9lb | 22 stone 1lb | 8lb | 1 stone 7lbs | |
Carol was more confident this week than she’s ever been. She said she had worked so hard so she was expecting somewhere in the region of 6-9lbs. When she realised she had only lost 1lb, she was shocked. She said she was devastated! But Kevin said that Dave’s loss was possibly the most shocking of all. He’d only lost 2lbs.
So the Black team are now facing Elimination. Each member has a vote and the person with the most votes goes home. If they can’t make a decision, the other team has the casting vote!
Final Pleas
Final pleas worked differently in the new teams. They had to individually state their case to the other members of their own team. It was definitely a position that none of them wanted to be in. Particularly Kevin. He said he didn’t like having to beg for things and that’s how he sees the final pleas. He said he wanted to stay for his family and to get fit so he could make his son proud of him.
Carol said that she thought this was going to be her big weight loss week and she was really upset that it was only 1lb. She asked them to think about the overall weight she’d lost rather than what she had lost in that week. She said she wanted to stay because the extra weight she was carrying was an absolute plague on her life.
Maria said that she would love to stay because being in the Biggest Loser house had changed her completely and given her the confidence she needed. But she feels that she’s still got a long way to go.
Sadie said she was getting sick of having to stand in front of the other contestants to plead for her place in the house. She said she wanted to weigh 18 stone something before she left the house and she still has a little way to go.
Dave said he came into the house to spur Jamie on but, also to get fit so he could carry on looking after his wife who is very ill. You could see in his face that he was getting emotional which is unusual for him. They all realised that they didn’t want to go home but that if they stayed someone else on their team would have to go – not an enviable position!
Who will the Black team send home? And, at the end of the show, Richard said he wanted to bring someone back. Hmmmmm, what does that mean to the Biggest Loser house?
