The all important weigh in looms at the Biggest Loser house - Kevin has a bit of a turn and the Blues are dreading the scales.
Last Chance Training – Blacks
Angie had the Blacks in the gym for their Last Chance Training. She said that this session is her last chance to get as much fat off her team and get the best numbers possible on the scales at the weigh in to save them from Elimination. Carol said,
‘We were really looking forward to Last Chance Workout session with Angie and, of course, we had good news for her,’
Angie asked the team what had happened in the Temptation Challenge the day before. When they told her that none of them gave in to Temptation, she said that she knew it was tough being away from their families and that the videos were a huge temptation but she said the people at home were the reason they were here and that they should use that to fire them up.
Then Angie noticed that they had numbers written on their hands. She said,
‘You got your number on there,’ pointing at her hand and with a huge grin on her face,
‘Hey, everyone’s got their numbers on!’
Positive Thinking
Carol said that each Black team member had decided that they were going to write the number of pounds they wanted to lose that week on their hands in black so it was there as a reminder to them, every few minutes, of what their goals were. Angie was obviously impressed with that.
Kevin said he’d been visualising 8lbs this week. Carol was going for 6lbs, but, depending on how you looked at it, it could be a 9. Carol said that every time Mark had looked at it, it looked like a 9 and had been psyching him out! Maria’s number was 5lbs. She lost 5lbs last week and she wants to carry on being consistent. Sadie’s goal was a huge 10lbs. She said she knew it was something that was slightly out of reach but thought if she focussed on it she would reach it. Angie said,
‘They’re so determined to get these figures, they really, really are and so they’ve got them all on their hands and they’re looking at them constantly. They’re constantly reinforcing that belief and that desire,’
Kevin said to Angie that he had to get that figure this week. He said that during this workout, he had to be on the verge of collapse because if he didn’t get the figure he wants on the scales, he would be devastated.
Once they had warmed up, Angie got them working on the kettlebells because they are such a great fat burner. They started with swings then squats and then swings and so on. Carol said later that she thought it was going to be really difficult but Angie had said they would feel a difference in week six and, Carol said that she did. It wasn’t even half as hard as she thought it was going to be. All Angie’s hard work and the Black’s blood, sweat and tears seem to be really paying off.
Angie said that Maria had really changed and she could see positive changes in her every day. Angie said that Maria had become much more competitive. Maria said that from the fourth week in the house she had changed her attitude a lot, now there was no stopping her!
Out For The Count
Kevin, completely out of breath, called the Kettlebell a lethal weapon. He carried on with the session but then he was experiencing a pins and needle type pain. Angie said that Kevin never, ever moans so she knew something wasn’t right. She called for the paramedic to get him checked out. It was a low blood sugar because he hadn’t eaten very much before the session.
He was really worried that he had let Angie down. She said that he couldn’t let her down, it would never be the case. She said she totally trusted him and believed in him. She told him that she understood the journey and she was happy with where he is now and that she was completely proud of him. Angie said later,
‘I’m not surprised at all that Kevin went down, I’m really not. Because he has, and they have, pushed themselves utterly to their limits, without a doubt. And, that’s what happens. But, you know, at least they can rest assured when they get on that scale that they have gone to their limit, they have gone to the edge, they haven’t left something in the tank!’
Last Chance Training – Blues
Richard had a surprise for the Blues for their Last Chance Training session. He told them they were going to sweat lots that they were going to have some fun with the session but that they needed to graft too.
He told them their session was on bikes outside today. Lisa said later that she hadn’t ridden a bike for years, not since she was about 4 years old! When Richard told the others to go and grab their bikes, Lisa hesitated. She was definitely not very happy about the prospect!
Once they were on their bikes, helmets on, they did speed laps around the court yard of the house. Richard kept telling them to move it and speed up – he definitely wanted them sweaty and out of breath for their Last Chance Training! Every now and then, he would shout ‘Gate’ to someone and that person had to do the long stretch down to the gate and back as quickly as possible.
Jamie was on his way back up and Mark was on his way down and Jamie said to Mark,
‘Be careful of the sheep!’ because there were sheep in the fields either side of the path and he had nearly run one over on the way down!
Richard said later,
‘Lisa and Katey were not impressed with me at all on the bikes. So I thought, let’s add a little bit of competition to this. So I sent them on the Gate Run together. Competing!’
Lisa said that when she started on the race with Katey she hadn’t thought about strategic moves or anything because if she thought about it she probably should have gone quite steady at first and then ‘pelted’ it back. But she thought she’d get away from her really fast at the beginning and was ‘knackered’ by half way!
Katey was on her way back up before Lisa got to the gate and, to add insult to injury, Lisa careered into the field and fell off the bike! Jamie said,
‘Lisa ain’t the most elegant of cyclists and I did notice her suddenly fall off her bike which I did find funny. I know it wasn’t a funny situation to see or to happen to anyone but, it was funny at the moment! She got straight back on her bike and came back so there wasn’t any serious damage but, it was funny to watch!’
Richard told Lisa that her forfeit for losing the race with Katey was to run up and down the stairs five times with a 10kg weighted jacket on. Richard kept telling her she wasn’t doing it fast enough. He said that she was the last in so she had a lot to prove to him and the team. She said afterwards,
‘Oh, death was the forfeit! I think I ended up doing it about 10 times because he wasn’t watching when I was doing it and I was counting and I did it way more than 5 times! And I was well knackered!’
Lisa doesn’t seem to be taking on board that all the pushing that Richard is doing is for her benefit. If the Blue team don’t do well in the scales, one of them will be Eliminated. Richard said that the stair climb was originally a punishment just for Lisa for losing the race but, when he saw how tiring it was, he decided to get the rest of the team to do it too.
Richard was not impressed with Michaela. He said it was the last training session of the week and she barely broke a sweat. But he said Katey and Jamie did great. He said that Katey puts her heart into it but does seem to only have one speed. He said that Lisa didn’t do enough. He feels that there is a barrier with her that she needs to break through.
Holding Out For A Miracle!
Mark said that at the end of Last Chance Workout it got a bit emotional. He thinks that everyone realised they are in trouble this week and it’ll be a miracle if they aren’t up for Elimination. They have an extra member on the team whose weight is one of the heaviest and the Blacks won the prize from the Challenge meaning they can take one person’s weight off their total.
Michaela and Katey were both in tears and the rest of them looked like they had the weight of the world on their shoulders. Richard said if they didn’t make it through to next week, they needed to go away and do all the things that he had taught them. Michaela said later,
‘I just got so emotional once again because it sort of hit me that I could be going home and I just thought, it’s really a scary thought because, I really hope that I’m going to be able to do this on my own in the outside world,’
Katey said that with the majority of weigh ins they’d had with Richard they’d never been terrified that they weren’t going to make it through but this is the first one that they’ve all been really, really nervous about.
Lisa, perhaps a little hard-heartedly said,
‘Michaela’s been crying all week and Katey’s been crying for a few days and if they keep going at this rate, I think they’ll be like in a crying cup final with Jamie!’
Katey feels that since Lisa came back she has put a divide in the team and Mark said that if they did end up being up for Elimination, that he would choose Lisa because he doesn’t think she is up to the task and that she isn’t fit enough.
Weigh In
Michaela said when she walked into the Weigh In room she was really nervous because the competition is so hot and it was really scary. Kevin said at the beginning of the week, they were recovering from losing Dave and the Blacks said to each other that they would definitely not go into the Elimination room again!
No one wants to be going home at the stage as the final draws closer.
Kate Garraway welcomed Lisa back. She said that because she had just re-joined the team, they needed to find a new starting weight for her. She explained that her weight wouldn’t be included in the Blue team’s combined total and, if the Blue team were up for Elimination, she would have immunity. That scuppers the Blue team’s chance of Eliminating her!
The Blue team looked none to pleased with that news but, probably breathed a sigh of relief that her weight wouldn’t be included in their total. Lisa said later that when she looked at her teammates’ faces, she realised that they had intended to vote her off this week and Katey said she was a bit gutted because it would have been an easy option.

When Kevin’s weight loss was revealed, he had something in his hand that he kissed. He had got his goal of 8lbs! Kate Garraway asked him what he was kissing and he told her it was his lucky stone that his son had given to him. Kate Garraway asked him how it felt to be under 20 stone. He said,
‘Oh yeah, I just noticed that! That’s good innit? Yeah I like that! The last time I was that weight I was 19 years old,’
Before he got on the scales, Kate Garraway asked Jamie what he wanted to lose. He said that he originally wanted to lose 10lb but after seeing the Black’s weight loss, he wanted it to be 12lbs. Kate Garraway said that was a big ask but, he said he’d done it before. When they saw the scale said that he had lost 9lbs he seemed a little disappointed. When Kate asked him why, he said that the week he lost 12lbs before, he hadn’t been at 100% but he felt he had given more this week without the same result.
Sadie had wanted to lose 10lbs but was a pound off at 9lbs lost. Carol said that she wanted to lose 6lbs after last week’s loss of only 1lb. When the scales revealed she had actually lost 7lbs, she said that the extra 1lb made up the 1lb that Sadie was off her goal! She did a little jig on the scales, obviously chuffed to bits with what the scales said!
Elimination
The Blue team’s percentage was 2.43% and the Blacks had 3.03% which meant the Blacks didn’t need to use the prize they had won after the Challenge. They could have discarded one person’s loss to bring their percentage up, but didn’t need to. And, Carol was this week’s Biggest Loser! The look of shock on her face was a picture, she almost couldn’t believe it! She had lost 3.48% of her body weight with her cracking 7lb loss.
However, it did mean the Blues were up for Elimination and, with Lisa now immune, they have to choose between their existing teammates. They all looked devastated and Mark looked particularly worried. Mark said,
‘As a team, we really got our comeuppance this week because a lot of the team hasn’t worked hard enough. They’ve not been with single voice and single force and if you don’t work as a team, I’m sorry, you’re going to struggle to beat a team that does and the Blacks do!’
Final Pleas
Because the Blues have to choose one of their own to Eliminated and their first choice, Lisa is immune, they have to plea to each other and put forward their cases for staying.
Michaela said that for her plea she wasn’t going to beg but just say it as it is. She said she had never been in this situation before, but she didn’t feel ready to go home yet. She said she still felt that another couple of weeks would make such a difference to her being stronger on the outside. She feels that she has given it her all while she’s been there and that she’s still got so much to give. She said,
‘Obviously, you’ve got to vote for somebody so vote with your hearts and hopefully, I get to stay in,’
Katey said that it was weird seeing Michael’s plea. She said it was very cold and there was no emotion in it which is not the Michaela that she knows so she didn’t know if Michaela really wanted to stay at that point.
Jamie was up next. He said that the first time he was up for Elimination it was against Lisa and her mum and he cried his eyes out and he was begging to stay. He said that he wasn’t going to do that this time. He said that most of them knew his reasons for being in the house and that he was asking them to do the right thing. He did start to get a little emotional but held it together better than he normally does!
Lisa said later that Jamie’s plea was as she expected it to be. She said,
‘I was expecting him to cry, which he did. I was expecting him to bring up his dad, which he did. And his girlfriend and his mum, which he did so, I didn’t really need to hear Jamie’s plea cos I already knew what it would be,’
Katey said that she wasn’t really sure what to say when it came to her plea. She asked them to think back to the bonfire when they threw away their items and clothes and she told them about her confidence and how much it has changed since she’s been in the house. She said she still isn’t fully there with her confidence but it is getting there. She said just another week and she’d be so thankful for that. She feels that if she left now there would be too many temptations for her and she didn’t want to fall back into old habits. She finished her plea saying that she really wanted to be in the Biggest Loser house, more than anything.
Mark was up last. He said he had been overweight almost his whole life and that now he is 40 he feels this is his last chance to do something about it. He said,
‘Like me or loathe me, it makes no difference, I work hard and I never stop. I am just like a machine but I’m your machine and the Blue team is stronger with me in it than me sat at home. And when it comes to challenges I’ve been a part of four wins, when it comes to weigh ins I’m normally always in the top two. I’ve lost 62lbs, that’s over 10lbs a week. So, my credentials are there and I’m your asset and I tell you something, if you cut my veins now I will bleed Blue cos that’s what I am. I’m a Blue team member, I’m nothing to do with the Blacks. I’m Blue team through and through. So I’m asking you to let me carry on this journey cos I like to finish things, I’m very competitive and I’ve got a lot more weight to lose. But, for yourselves and to give yourselves a chance of getting through you stand a better chance with me in your team than sending me home. Please keep me in cos I’ll work me bum off for you!’
Both Jamie and Katie felt that Mark’s plea was very well rehearsed and not particularly from the heart with a few cheesy lines. Jamie said that it was a little arrogant when he was saying the Blues would be stronger with him in it for challenges and things. Perhaps that is the case but, Mark does have a point. He is one of the biggest losers, has been on more treks than anyone else and has done well in the challenges. He’s definitely very focussed. Would he be an asset they can’t do without?
So, will Mark live to see another day or will his arrogance get him kicked out? Judging by the clips at the end of this episode, there is some insider trading going on when it comes to voting!!
