It’s the beginning of week 2 in the Biggest Loser house and the pressure is mounting. Adding to that is the 4” snow on the ground outside the house! Tensions were really running high with break downs, walk outs and fall outs!

Biggest Loser Reward

As a prize for being the Biggest Losers last week, Rick and Michelle went on a trek. At the end of the trek was there prize – a set of instructions that would give them the power to affect the rest of the Biggest Loser household.

They had to search the 50 acre site in the snow, all bundled up with jackets and scarves. Rick said they were off for a stroll in the countryside and that they should do this more often!

The rest of the contestants back at the house were discussing what the prize could be. There were a lot of conspiracy theories flying around according to the Brown team. Kevin said,

‘Do I trust Rick and Michelle? No, not as far as I could throw them. Which is probably not very far at the moment but, maybe next week I’ll be able to throw them a little further!’

Michelle said she hoped it was something good for a change so she didn’t have to give anyone bad news. The elimination decision has obviously taken its toll on her.

Rick and Michelle found the ‘read me’ sign with the instructions on it attached to a huge tree in the middle of a field.

They had won a private training session with Angie and were allowed to choose one other couple to join them. Was it really a reward or a punishment?

Breaking the News

They told the other contestants when they got back and were met with a very mixed reaction to their news.

Katey said later that they could take a couple from their own group as a reward or take a couple from the other group to punish them as they are all terrified of Angie!

They chose Kevin and Mark from the other group. Kevin had already had experience of Angie on the first day and she had reduced him to tears. He said her training style doesn’t work for him and Mark felt she had picked on Kev a lot on the first day so they were both very apprehensive.

Kevin said that maybe the Blues saw the training session as a way to break the Browns but, as far as he was concerned it was a chance to burn some extra calories and get ahead in the game.

There were a few fireworks during the session but Angie told the Blues that the Browns were out performing them and that they really needed to step it up.

Angie’s Team

During their training with Angie, her team really struggled with the tough circuit she had set up outside in the snow. They had to jog, lift kettlebells, dead lift tractor tyres and weights. Miriam said she felt tired and Jennifer was ‘a nightmare’ according to Angie.

Jennifer was making no effort so Angie stopped her doing the circuit training and made her jog instead. She told her,

‘You’ve got to show me more or I’m not going to train you!’

Dave was a real inspiration though and Jamie was pushing so hard he had gone through four t-shirts in two days!

The Yellows

Angie decided to have a chat with the Yellows after their disastrous session outside. She told Jennifer that her energy levels were very flat – the way she moved, the way she held her body and the way she spoke. She said they would end up going home if she didn’t do something about it.

The chat opened the floodgates for Jennifer. She admitted she had given up years ago and that was the reason she had piled on the weight – she had got tired of life and always battling.

Angie hugged her and told her she understood. It was all too much for Jennifer who broke down and sobbed in Angie’s arms. Angie felt there had been a real breakthrough with her at the point and was hoping for good things for the Yellows in the coming weeks.

In the Gym, Angie got Jennifer to carry 7½ stone kettlebells to illustrate to her how much extra weight she was carrying (Jennifer actually has about 15 stone to lose). Jennifer said it really brought home to her how much extra strain she was putting on her heart. The rest of the team did the same to help them visualise the extra weight they are all carrying for no reason.

Richard’s Team

The lethargic story was much the same in Richard’s camp. There was a distinct lack of energy and Michaela had a face like thunder when they got to the Gym.

Richard was really pushing his team – the taste of failure lingering in his mouth after losing the Red team. Michaela felt he was pushing too hard because she broke down, got off the bike she was on and walked away. Richard sent her outside because he didn’t want her disrupting the group.

The Pink Ladies

Outside, Michaela said she felt completely exhausted and that she wanted to go home. She asked the cameraman to stop filming – she had really had enough and was missing home. Richard explained that if she went home Maria would have to go too and that she would be letting her down.

Michaela went back in to the Gym with a new determination – if everyone else could cope with it so could she!

There seems to be a bit of competition building up between Mark and Carol. He finished the power walk first but had to trot at times to stay ahead of her. Again, Michaela seemed to have lost her mojo and fell behind even Katey who had a knee injury!

The next session was boxing with Richard and he said this would be sink or swim for the Pink ladies. It was obviously just what the doctor ordered for Michaela as she punched out all of the aggression she had. After the session she was exhausted but so much happier and more positive.

The Dinner Task

There was a Dinner Task for the group at the end of the day. The Grey team and the Green team had to cook pizzas from scratch with healthy toppings following the nutritionist’s recipe. The rest of the group had to decide which ones tasted the best – Green or Grey.

Jamie and Katey were the head chefs and Dave and Carol were doing all the chopping. Katey had never cooked before, in fact, the first meal she has ever cooked was the first week in the Biggest Loser house!

It took them 2½ hours to cook the pizza which didn’t look very appetising. The rest of the team tasted the results while Katey and Carol went to bed. Cooking had taken it out of them! Dave felt that Carol really mollycoddled Katey and the rest of the team were surprised that they hadn’t stayed up for the tasting.

Team A got one vote and Team B got the rest – Dave and Jamie had won the dinner task.

Tonight is the challenge. With the snow on the ground outside and exhausted contestants, what will the challenge bring?
