Last night, the Biggest Loser contestants got to see themselves before they entered the Biggest Loser House and their trainers sent them to hell and back in their last ever workout!

Under Pressure

There are only three places in the Biggest Loser final with six contestants all vying for the spots and the pressure was beginning to show yesterday. Katey said she was feeling really apprehensive about the weigh in because it was going to be the first one where their trainers would be present and she really wanted to make Richard proud of her. It goes without saying that every single one of the contestants that are left really want to be in the final.

Since they all joined the house seven weeks ago, they have all come so far. Not one of them thought that they would have been able to complete a Triathlon all those weeks ago and yet, yesterday they did just that!

Ghosts of Contestants Past

Just to prove how far they have actually come, the Biggest Loser team decided to show them. They were all called into the Billiard Room and as they walked in there was a television sat there with a DVD player and two comfy sofas. There was a note from the Biggest Loser team that said:

Eight weeks ago you applied for a show called The Biggest Loser. Today you will watch some footage of those auditions.

Katey said that she didn’t want to see herself all those weeks ago but Kevin said he was quite excited by it and wanted to see how far he had progressed.

Maria was the first one to appear on the screen. Although you could tell it was her, even her body language is different now. The person on the screen obviously had no confidence whereas our Maria is bubbling over with it! Maria said,

‘I was really struggling to watch myself because I felt so ashamed of how big I looked!’

She went on to say that before she came into the house she was a housewife and her life revolved around her boys. She said that was definitely going to change when she gets home – she intends to get herself on the career ladder!

Jamie saw himself next and the first thing he said was that he was ‘really fat then’. He said he was really disappointed in himself allowing his body to get to that size. He said he never wanted to see himself like that again!

Sadie just buried her head in her hands when she saw herself on the screen. She said she didn’t realise how much weight she had lost until she saw the old version of herself and there was no way she was going to waste any more time being overweight.

Kevin said that he was absolutely shocked at his old self. When he appeared on the screen, he said,
‘Oh my days!’

aid he was an absolute mess and in serious danger of dying young. He said that in the audition he was talking about being around for his son which seemed like an impossible dream at the time. But, now he thinks he has made that a reality.

Katey said that when she saw her mum’s audition tape it didn’t look like her mum. She said she looked so much older – almost like her Nan. Carol said that the person on the screen spent every morning loathing what she saw in the mirror and that her day was punctuated with what she was going to eat – she never wants to be that person again.

When Katey saw herself on the TV she said that she was so low at that point with her weight and how she was feeling. Carol said that she hadn’t realised how depressed and down Katey was about her weight back then because she always put a brave face on it all. Katey was bullied in junior school and would quite often come home with footprints on her skirt where she had been kicked by the bullies. Katey said,
‘That bullying is in the past now and those people will never, ever effect my life again! Now I am actually living and enjoying life. I am! I’m just so happy!’

Carol said that it was really good watching the audition tapes, if a little emotional, because it showed people’s starting points and the effect the Biggest Loser House has had on them all. She said that you could really see the impact of their time in the house and that they just aren’t the same people anymore.

We’re Going Through Changes

Although watching the audition tapes showed the contestants that they had changed, Angie and Richard wanted them to realise the physical changes they have made. They gathered everyone at the front of the house and it was a mystery to the contestants as to what was going on.

On the front steps of the house were a load of bags of something but no one could work out what it was. Angie said that she and Richard had a little surprise for the Biggest Loser contestants. She said she wanted to show them how far they had come and that the bags on the steps represented how much fat each of them had lost. Angie said later,

‘We wanted to show them a tangible representation of the amount of fat they had lost in 8 weeks,’
Kevin was the first one up. Angie and Richard loaded the bags of fat into a rucksack – there was 60lbs of fat in total! Once they had filled the rucksack Kevin hoisted it onto his back. He said that he couldn’t believe that he had held all that weight on his body for that amount of time.

Jamie was the next person up. He had 52lbs of fat packed into his rucksack. When Angie and Richard helped him get the rucksack on he said he was shocked with the weight of it and didn’t like feeling the extra weight again.

When it was Katey’s turn, she had 39lbs in her rucksack. She said she couldn’t believe the amount of stress she had put her body under with all that extra weight.

Sadie’s fat bags came to 36lbs. She said that was 2 stone 8lbs and that it was really, really heavy when you had to carry it on your back.

For Carol there was 33lbs of fat bags. She said it was just disgusting. She couldn’t believe that she had been carrying all that fat round and it had been going round in her body. She said it made her want to be sick.

Last but not least was Maria. Her fat bags weighed 30lbs. She said she was ashamed that the fat was there in the first place.

Once they had all got their rucksacks on and were all back in line, Angie told them that this is where they were 8 weeks ago. They all looked like the extra weight they were carrying was causing them problems and Jamie said that it was painful – his joints and back were having problems coping with it. Sadie said she had underestimated how much weight she had actually lost and she was surprised by the weight of it on her back.

Angie told then they could now take the rucksacks off. Sadie dropped hers to the floor and said she felt light without it. She said later,

‘I will never put that weight back on. I don’t want to undo the work I’ve done here!’

The exercise had the desired effect, helping each of the contestants physically see and feel how much weight they had lost. While they were wearing the rucksacks, they all looked down in the mouth and unhappy. Once they had shed the rucksacks, they all said they suddenly felt floaty light and Carol said she felt so much taller! Angie said later,

‘We needed to make sure they left this place knowing exactly what they must never go back to,’

One Last Session

Katey and Jamie met up with Richard in the gym for their last Last Chance Workout. Richard told them that they needed to give him everything they had got in this session to get them through to the final.
The Blacks were in their gym too. Angie told them this workout could be the one that determines whether they get into the final or not. So no pressure on any of the contestants there then?

Angie said that this would be the ultimate Last Chance Workout and that everything came down to this last session. Both trainers really worked their teams and the sweat was dripping in abundance. Sadie said it was painful but she wouldn’t get a chance to be a finalist if she didn’t push through the pain now. Angie said later,

‘The session was all about fat burning. You sweat as much as you possibly can. They chose a machine and they had to maintain a certain pace with the level going up, up, up, up!’

Maria said they went to levels they had never been to before. Carol said it was absolute hell! Kevin said his legs felt like lead and pain was surging through his calf muscles.

Jamie said that he knew this would be the toughest workout he had ever done. Richard said the emphasis was on weight loss which meant cardio-vascular work all the way. Katey said later,

‘I wanted our Last Chance Training to be the best we’ve ever had with Rich because I wanted to show him just how far we’ve come in 8 weeks! You have to go through so many barriers and Richard’s just taught me so well on how to do that now,’

Richard said that Katey grafted and he had never seen Jamie push that hard through the pain threshold before. Jamie said that he wasn’t going to give up, that he was just going to push as hard as he could. He said that when Richard told them they could stop, he just collapsed onto the console and that he had no more to give.

It was time for Richard to say goodbye to the Blues. He said,

‘Well done guys, this is a last goodbye I guess. It’s been one seriously long journey. We’ve had some serious ups and downs and I’ve seen you guys at your weakest. Right now, in this Last Chance Workout, I’ve seen you guys both at your finest and I’m proud!’

Weigh In

This weigh in will determine who out of the six contestants will be the three finalists. It was also the first weigh in that Angie and Richard were present at. All of the contestants were really feeling the pressure and were all nervous about what would show on the scales except for Kevin. He said,

‘I wasn’t nervous at all. I know I’d worked really hard,’

The trainers were really feeling the pressure too. Angie said she wanted her Black team in the final but there were only three places and she had four team members. She said it was totally nerve-racking. Richard said it was seriously tense in the Weigh In Room.

Kate Garraway explained how it was all going to work. She said the two people with the highest percentage weight loss over the last eight weeks would automatically go through to the final and be in with a chance of being crowned The Biggest Loser. The third finalist would be decided by all of the contestants. They will have to vote for the person they think should be in the final.

Jamie weighed 28 stone 8lbs when he came into the house and at the last weigh in he came out at 24 stone 9lbs

Kevin said that he didn’t think that Jamie deserved a place in the final because he hadn’t worked hard enough during his time in the Biggest Loser House. Jamie said that he wanted to match the biggest loss he has had so far which was 12lbs. Kevin said that he thought to himself, good luck with that mate! Richard was stood with his arm around Katey and he said that he was praying for Jamie to hit a really big number to get him through to the final. But when Jamie got on the scales and saw the paltry 3lbs loss that he had achieved, there was a look of complete shock on his face, he looked like he had been punched in the stomach. Richard was hanging his head and Katey was looking at the floor. Kevin said later,

‘3 stone 13 for Jamie is quite a good weight loss if he was on the outside world. This is a very intense experience and it should’ve dropped off him. Obviously, it must have been down to the lack of hard work.’
He had lost a total of 3 stone 13lbs which is 13.75% of his total body weight

Sadie weighed 21 stone 5lbs when she came into the house and at the last weigh in came out at 18 stone 11

Sadie said she felt quite confident but as she got closer to the scales she started to feel quite nervous. She wanted to make sure she hadn’t let herself or Angie down. Jamie said that when Sadie walked up to the scales, he was hoping it was going to be one of those weeks were no one got big numbers. When she realised she had lost 9lbs she had a grin the size of the Cheshire Cat! The Blue team, however, looked like their world had ended! She said later that she was so happy her cheeks were aching with the smiling. (You know laughing and smiling burns calories don’t you Sadie?) Angie called across to her that she was proud of her.

She had lost a total of 3 stone 3lbs which is 15.05% of her total body weight

Katey weighed 22 stone 3lbs when she came into the house and at the last weigh in came out at 19 stone 6lbs

Katey said as she walked up to the scales she was terrified because she knew Jamie had only lost 3lbs and they had done the same amount of work and eaten similar food for the last week. She said as she stepped onto the scales she could feel Richard looking at her and she really wanted to make him proud. Richard said that all he was thinking was, please give me a decent number. The reality of her weight loss hit Jamie and Richard and, although she is on the Black team, her mum Carol. All of them looked completely distraught for her when they realised she had only lost 3lbs. Katey said later that she was so gutted. As she spoke to Kate Garraway, the emotion was welling up in her voice. She said it was her lowest weight loss so far.

She had lost a total of 2 stone 13lbs which is 13.18% of her total body weight

Carol weighed 15 stone 11lbs when she came into the house and at the last weigh in came out at 13 stone 6lbs

Carol said that she had worked harder this week and had every reason to believe when she got on the scales she would get the numbers she deserved. Kate Garraway asked her what she was hoping for this week and Carol said she would be happy with 6lbs. She had lost 6lbs for the last two weeks running. As she stood on the scales, Angie had her fingers in her mouth. It was obviously nail biting stuff for her! When the scales revealed she had only lost 2lbs Carol looked heartbroken and the rest of her team looked completely gobsmacked! She had definitely worked hard and had even won the bronze medal in the Biggest Loser Triathlon!

She had lost a total of 2 stone 7lbs which is 15.84% of her total body weight

Maria weighed 15 stone 11lbs when she came into the house and at the last weigh in came out at 13 stone 9lbs

Maria said that as she was walking down to the scales her heart was pounding like a drum. Kevin said that Maria was the dangerous one. He said she could knock anyone off the top spot because she has had consistent numbers all the way through the competition. No surprise though when Kate Garraway asked her what she was hoping for this week and she replied 5lb! When Angie realised Maria had done it again and had got her 5lb target she punched the air – in a discreet way of course! Maria said later it was like Christmas to her! Angie called across to Maria that she knew she would do it. Maria said that she hadn’t been this sort of weight for at least 9 years.

She had lost a total of 2 stone 7lbs which is 15.84% of her total body weight
That meant there was a tie for first place between Maria and Carol. Carol said later,

‘What was the odds of me and Maria being exactly the same after 8 weeks?’

Kevin weighed 23 stone 8lbs when he came into the house and at the last weigh in came out at 19 stone 4lbs

Kevin said he was absolutely confident and he felt completely in tune with himself as he walked towards the scales. He said he felt in his bones that good things were going to happen. Kate Garraway asked him what he wanted to lose this week. He said that he normally writes a number on his hand but this week he had written the letter ‘B’ which stood for ‘Big Numbers’. He said when he stood on the scales, he looked straight ahead because he didn’t need to look at the numbers ticking away on the scales as he knew he was going to get the big number he wanted. Angie said she looked at Kevin and her instinct knew it was going to be a good one – she could feel it. Her instincts were bang on! Kevin said that when he saw the 11lbs on the scales he couldn’t have wished for a better ending. Jamie said that when he realised Kevin had lost 11lbs he felt sick and was thinking that he had done the same amount of work as Kevin had, if not more. Kevin said the last time he was in the 18 stone area in his life was when he was 18! Angie said to him that it was absolutely outstanding and that she was VERY proud of him.

He had lost a total of 5 stone 1lb which is 21.52% of his total body weight

Lisa Marie (Eliminated) 23 stone 11lb 23 stone 7lb 4lb  1 stone 11lb

When Kate Garraway announced the total percentage for Kevin he giggled and said it was crazy! He was obviously over the moon with himself and, quite rightly so! Katey said that he had just completely blown everyone else out of the water. Kevin said later,

‘After I came off the scales I was elated. I went up and I gave Angie a really big hug and then, I went over and gave Richard a cuddle as well because he was my trainer at first and they done some phenomenal work, both of them. I owe them my life to be honest with you!’

Going Through

Kate Garraway explained that from the 16 original contestants, there were six remaining. She said that Kevin was the biggest loser so far so he had a guaranteed place in the final. She went on to say,

'Now Carol and Maria, you have joint second place, both of you automatically have a place in the final,’

The pair of them were almost jumping for joy! They turned round and hugged the life out of each other. Maria said it was the best feeling EVER! Richard said that because they had three finalists with Carol and Maria in joint second place that he thought it was all over. But then there was a twist.

Kate went on to explain that there was still an available place in the final because Carol and Maria were joint second. Carol said the atmosphere in the Weigh In Room was fantastic because they knew there was going to be a fourth finalist. Angie said that her dream could come true and all four of her Black team could be going through! Richard said,

‘I was thinking Hallelujah! This was our chance to sneak one of the Blue team in through the back door and in to the Final!’

Kate told Jamie, Katey and Sadie that they would have a chance to plead their case as to why they deserved a place in the Final. Then everyone would have to vote for the person they wanted to put through. Kate said were they going to vote tactically and get rid of their biggest threat or would they vote with their hearts?

Next time Jamie, Katey and Sadie plea to the others to put them through to the Final and we find out who goes through.
